Choose what visitors can view

Protect individual pages and posts, categories, WooCommerce products and categories, custom post types, taxonomies, or the WordPress login area. Exclude selected pages, posts, or post types when they should remain public.

For a page with both public and restricted material, use shortcodes to protect selected text, pictures, or downloads while leaving the rest visible. Elementor, the WordPress Block Editor, and Beaver Builder support protection for blocks, sections, and widgets.

Set access rules

Create multiple passwords for various audiences, with expiration dates and usage limits. Selected WordPress user roles can bypass password screens, and bypass links give approved visitors password-free access. The base plugin also works with IP address whitelisting and passwordless admin access.

Password Protected Pro can add a password screen to the WordPress login area. Limit login attempts to help reduce brute-force attempts. For bot checks, the base plugin supports Google reCAPTCHA; Pro also supports hCaptcha and Cloudflare Turnstile.

Grant access after a form or purchase

With Gravity Forms, collect payments, registrations, lead information, contact details, or other form data before granting access to protected pages, posts, categories, or the whole site. After a successful submission, the plugin can email an access link so visitors can open the content without manually receiving or entering a password. You can also redirect visitors to a custom page after access.

WooCommerce integration lets you sell protected pages or posts through simple or variable virtual products and automatically email clients access details after purchase. Password usage limits and expiration options can help manage that access.

Customize the screen and review activity

Use the live preview to adjust the protection screen’s colors, styles, background, logo, and other components. Add custom text above or below the form, or set custom messages for expired passwords and usage limits.

Review password attempts and access activity in the WordPress dashboard. Password Protected Pro can export filtered activity logs to CSV for reporting or further analysis.

Set up protection

Install and activate the plugin in WordPress, then select the content to protect and configure its access rules. Add passwords, exclusions, role or IP access, and any expiration or usage limits. Customize the protection screen, connect Gravity Forms or WooCommerce if needed, then review access activity as your workflow develops.
