Simple Ajax Chat Pro

Simple Ajax Chat Pro keeps visitor conversations on your WordPress site without requiring an account with an external chat service. Pro works with unlimited chat forms; the free version supports one. Use separate forms for various conversations or website areas, with each form’s available settings.

Place forms and choose who can join

Install and activate the plugin through the WordPress dashboard, then configure its settings. Add [sac_happens] to a post or page, or use <?php if (function_exists('simple_ajax_chat')) simple_ajax_chat(); ?> in a theme template. You can allow open participation or require users to log in. Pro also supports private chat boxes between users.

Set message flow and alerts

New messages load through Ajax without a page refresh. Choose ascending or descending message order, set the update interval, and limit the number or length of messages. Add custom content before or after a form, and choose to load JavaScript only on pages that display chat. Sound alerts and browser notifications are available; Pro includes six sound alerts to choose from.

Manage participants and messages

Use the control panel to edit or delete messages, set banned words and phrases, and control which chat content is allowed. Pro includes invisible Google reCAPTCHA, utilities to mute users or ban non-admin users from chat sessions, and limits on the number of participants in a form. You can also enable email notifications for new messages and display an online users widget for a form.

Customize forms and chat display

Choose from six form styles or apply custom styles with CSS and filter hooks. Pro also supports a customizable emoji picker, visitor avatars and roles beside messages, and shortcuts using bang commands. Other options include a larger text area, the logged-in username as the chat name, control over the URL field, inline images, and custom content restrictions. Emoticons and emojis are supported.

Review and export conversations

Advanced chat management tools and user statistics provide oversight across conversations. Export messages as a CSV file or configure chats to clear messages automatically and send an email alert.
