How local resource URLs are handled
WordPress may append version parameters such as ?ver= to CSS and JavaScript URLs. After activation, the plugin removes all query-string parameters, including ?ver=, ?v=, and ?timestamp=, from local URLs ending in .css or .js. This is intended to help proxy servers and CDNs cache static documents.
External resources are ignored, and the WordPress admin dashboard is unaffected. The extension check excludes files without a CSS or JavaScript ending, including dynamic scripts. Since version parameters can act as cache-busting markers during development, review how your caching setup handles updated static files.
