Magic Post Thumbnail PRO finds or generates images for WordPress posts, either as featured images or within post content. Choose one or several image locations, then generate from an editor, the posts list, a Gutenberg block, bulk actions, imports, or a scheduled cron.

Use post details to guide image selection

Searches can use a post title or text analysis. PRO includes tags, categories, paragraph analysis, custom fields, custom requests, and the OpenAI keyword extractor. These inputs provide more context when a title alone does not describe the image you need.

Choose image sources and fallbacks

Set a fallback chain so the plugin tries the next source if the first one fails. You can also use the first image in a post or a default fallback image. PRO adds Unsplash and Pexels photo sources, along with AI sources such as Stable Diffusion, Replicate, Ideogram, Flux 2, Gemini (Nano Banana), and Grok. Each image or AI provider sets its own quotas and billing.

Style presets, including photorealistic, cinematic, and “no text,” apply only to AI sources. You can optionally add a title or logo bar to a generated image; the overlay is off by default. PRO also includes horizontal flipping and cropping by 10%.

Generate images in WordPress

• Generate or regenerate from the Gutenberg or Classic Editor, or from the posts list.
• Use the Gutenberg block to search a source, insert an image, or set a featured image. The block shows more results in PRO.
• Run bulk generation for selected posts or a taxonomy.
• Use customisable crons and imports to extend generation beyond an individual editing session.

PRO compatibility includes REST, WPeMatico, FeedWordPress, WP All Import, Featured Image from URL, CMB2, ACF, and Meta Box. Restricted domains and a proxy are also supported.

Setup and support

Activate the extension and open its dashboard to check the source chain and API key status. You can run a one-click test generation to make a test draft. Under Automatic, choose the post types and image placement to use.

PRO includes priority support with replies within 24 hours. Translations include English, French, Spanish, Russian, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, German, Dutch, Polish, Turkish, Vietnamese, Chinese, Korean, Arabic, Indonesian, and Ukrainian.
