WordPress plugin
PDF Embedder Premium
PDF Embedder Premium places documents in posts, pages, and custom post types so visitors can read them on the page. The responsive viewer uses the PDF’s natural dimensions or a width you select, then adjusts to the available space as the browser changes size. Add PDFs from the Media Library or use a direct link to a hosted PDF. For a remote file, the link must point to the PDF itself, and the host must allow other websites to fetch it. You can embed unlimited PDFs.
Display PDFs inside WordPress content
PDF Embedder Premium places documents in posts, pages, and custom post types so visitors can read them on the page. The responsive viewer uses the PDF’s natural dimensions or a width you select, then adjusts to the available space as the browser changes size. Add PDFs from the Media Library or use a direct link to a hosted PDF. For a remote file, the link must point to the PDF itself, and the host must allow other websites to fetch it. You can embed unlimited PDFs.
Use the viewer for menus, price lists, ebooks, guides, reports, catalogs, brochures, newsletters, manuals, course materials, event programs, portfolios, and other PDF resources. Several documents on one page can form a simple library, while a sample chapter can appear on a product page.
Choose and configure a document
Upload a PDF to the Media Library or copy the direct URL of a hosted PDF. In the Block Editor, add the PDF Embedder block and choose the document from its sidebar. In the Classic Editor or a page builder, add it with a shortcode. Choose the display settings and publish the page. Shared defaults, such as viewer width and toolbar position, are available in the plugin settings; block and shortcode settings can override them for an individual embed.
The Block Editor shows a live PDF preview while you edit. The viewer is self-hosted, and its files load on pages that contain an embedded PDF.
Reading controls in Premium
Premium includes a toolbar download button and working hyperlinks, including links within the PDF and links to other pages. Readers can scroll continuously through a document, enter a page number to jump directly to it, or search the PDF text and move to matching pages. The viewer also works with page navigation and zoom.
On smaller screens, full-screen mode includes a prominent viewing option when the document renders narrower than the width you set. The PDF then takes the focus of the mobile browser, where readers can swipe between pages.
Options by plan
The Pro plan adds secure viewing and watermarks. Secure viewing encrypts the PDF during transmission, making the original file more difficult for casual visitors to save or print. Watermarks can overlay text such as the logged-in user’s name or email address to discourage sharing of screenshots. These options can be used with pages restricted by membership or e-commerce extensions.
The Elite plan adds automatic PDF thumbnails. Thumbnails can be used as featured images, clickable download links, or file icons in the Media Library.
Membership, courses, and page builders
Because the viewer uses a regular block or shortcode, it can appear in content controlled by other WordPress add-ons. Embed documents on pages restricted with MemberPress, Paid Memberships Pro, Restrict Content Pro, or WooCommerce Memberships. Add handouts and workbooks to LearnDash, LifterLMS, or Tutor LMS courses, or display a sample chapter on a WooCommerce or Easy Digital Downloads product page and deliver the full ebook through your chosen WordPress workflow.
Premium includes an Elementor widget with the same options as the block and a live preview in the Elementor editor. Other builders that can output WordPress shortcodes can display the viewer through a shortcode element.
Document activity
View and download tracking helps you see which documents visitors read. Together with inline viewing, it supports workflows such as publishing a report on a page, assembling a document library, or providing course materials inside a restricted course.
