Schema for individual pages
Page-level options cover publishing, commerce, education, events and media. The fields depend on the type selected:
- Article and Book: Add an article’s author, publisher and publish date, or a book’s title, author and ISBN.
- Course and Event: Describe courses with a provider, description and ratings, or events with dates, venues and ticket information.
- Product and Service: Add product details such as price, availability, brand and ratings. Service markup covers descriptions, providers and pricing information.
- Software Application and Video Object: Describe an application with its name, pricing, ratings and download information, or a video with thumbnails, duration and description.
- WebPage: Define a page type, author and publisher.
- FAQ: Mark up frequently asked questions. Google retired FAQ rich results in May 2026, so this markup does not guarantee that show.
- How-To: The catalog includes markup for step-by-step instructions with pictures and videos. Google retired How-To rich results in 2023.
Specialized schemas and custom JSON-LD
Additional options cover datasets, discussion forums, image licenses, job postings, local businesses, movies, people, podcasts, profiles, Q&A pages, recipes, reviews and vehicle listings. Their fields can describe details such as a dataset’s license and creator, a job’s role and application information, a recipe’s ingredients and cooking time, or a vehicle’s make, model, price and mileage.
When a predefined type does not fit the content, Custom Markup Schema lets you add custom JSON-LD to a page.
Information about the wider site
Site-wide options include About Page, Breadcrumb, Contact Page, Organization, Person, Site Navigation and Sitelinks Search Box schemas. Organization markup can describe a company name, logo and social profiles; Contact Page markup can describe business contact details.
Setup and use
First install and activate the All In One Schema Rich Snippets plugin on your WordPress site. Then upgrade to Schema Pro for the advanced types and options described here. Select a schema that matches the page or site information, fill in the relevant details and review the markup during publishing.
For example, Article or Book schema can describe editorial content; Product or Service can describe commercial pages; and Event or Course can describe scheduled or educational offerings. Use Local Business or Organization for business information, or custom JSON-LD when a predefined option does not fit.
