Choose a reset scope
Site Reset
Site Reset clears pages, posts, comments, custom tables, and customers other than the current administrator. It keeps the current administrator, files and uploads, themes and child themes, plugins, basic WordPress options, and non-WordPress database tables. Use it to clear site content while retaining the existing media and site setup.
Nuclear Reset
The Pro-only Nuclear Reset removes almost everything, including files, custom settings, and database tables. It keeps the current visitor, the plugin’s files and data, and non-WordPress database tables.
Custom Reset
Choose which themes and plugins to activate, deactivate, or delete; which users to keep; and how blog information should be set after the reset. You can leave individual components unchanged and save your choices as reusable reset configurations.
Targeted utilities and scheduled collections
For narrower tasks, Pro includes 37 partial reset tools that act on selected parts of a site. For example, you can reset menus and widgets while leaving other areas untouched. The tools can also remove items such as uploads, themes, plugins, comments, or other specified site components.
Group selected tools into a Collection and run them together with one click. Collections can be used for partial resets, cleanup, or optimization. Scheduling lets the system run a collection automatically at a chosen time and frequency, which can help with recurring maintenance or resetting a demonstration site.
Database snapshots and WP Switcher
A snapshot is a full copy of the database that you can restore if a reset causes a problem or the database is damaged. Snapshots can provide an undo point for database changes, but they do not include site files and do not replace file backups. Pro can schedule snapshots automatically.
WP Switcher lets extension and theme developers change the WordPress version used for testing. Switching versions can help check compatibility and investigate version-specific issues.
Before you run a reset
Install and activate the plugin in your WordPress environment. Select the reset scope or tools for the task, save reusable configurations or collections if needed, and review the selected actions before running them. For operations that affect important data, take a snapshot first and remember that it covers the database, not files.
