GenerateBlocks Pro

GenerateBlocks Pro extends a focused set of WordPress editor blocks for building page layouts and displaying content. The blocks work with GeneratePress and other WordPress themes. They offer flexible building options, so the layout still depends on how you arrange and style the blocks.

Arrange content and build layouts

Use Container blocks to organize content into rows and sections, then use Grid blocks to arrange entries in flexible layouts. Text blocks handle headings, paragraphs, and other text-rich content with typography options. Button blocks add styled buttons, Image blocks add pictures, and Shape blocks add custom SVG shapes.

Query posts and display changing data

The Query block creates lists of posts from any post type with advanced query parameters. GenerateBlocks Pro extends these queries to use post meta and option fields when selecting posts.

Dynamic tags display changing WordPress content inside blocks. Available tags include post titles, excerpts, permalinks, dates, featured images, post and author meta, comment counts and URLs, author archive URLs and avatars, term lists, and previous and next post URLs. Pro includes tags for archive titles and descriptions, website options, term and user meta, the current year, website title and tagline, loop index numbers, and loop entry information. The displayed value depends on the content and context available to the block.

Set responsive styles

Responsive controls let you style blocks for desktop, tablet, and mobile screens. The documented ranges are desktop at 1025 pixels and above; desktop and tablet at 768 pixels and above; tablet from 768 to 1024 pixels; tablet and mobile up to 1024 pixels; and mobile below 768 pixels. GenerateBlocks Pro also lets you make custom media queries for additional breakpoints.

CSS and HTML output

The add-on generates CSS for the blocks used and keeps the HTML structure simple while allowing flexible layouts. Its coding standards are described as supporting security, stability, and future compatibility.

Get started in the editor

Open a WordPress page or post, add a block from the GenerateBlocks category, and select a block to begin. Starting with a Container gives you a section where you can add grids, text, buttons, images, shapes, queries, and dynamic content.
