WordPress plugin
WPSpeed PRO
WPSpeed PRO combines page caching with front-end and image optimization. The PRO edition can optimize all pages; the free version is limited to the homepage and one page with full optimization. With .htaccess caching enabled, cached pages can be served as static HTML without running WordPress for each response, reducing the processing needed to deliver them and potentially lowering TTFB and server load.
Optimize WordPress pages across your site
WPSpeed PRO combines page caching with front-end and image optimization. The PRO edition can optimize all pages; the free version is limited to the homepage and one page with full optimization. With .htaccess caching enabled, cached pages can be served as static HTML without running WordPress for each response, reducing the processing needed to deliver them and potentially lowering TTFB and server load.
Adaptive Contents generates a lightweight version of the site intended to improve PageSpeed scores while preserving functionality. Above-the-Fold CSS extraction loads critical styles first and the remaining CSS asynchronously. Instant Page uses just-in-time preloading to load the next page before a user clicks it.
Control scripts, styles, and resources
The extension can minify JavaScript, CSS, and HTML, remove whitespace, and combine multiple files into fewer requests. It also provides controls to defer, asynchronously load, or preload CSS, JavaScript, and web fonts. Resource utilities can remove unused CSS, JavaScript, and fonts, rewrite asset URLs to a CDN, and reduce DOM components by loading heavy blocks asynchronously. .htaccess options apply browser caching and compression, while HTTP/2 server push is available on compatible servers. An exclusions system helps manage conflicts with scripts and styles.
Image optimization and lazy loading
The PRO edition unlocks the full set of image optimization rules. WPSpeed can resize and compress pictures, optimize background images, and apply lossless optimization to PNG and JPG files. It can make image srcsets with up to four sizes and convert images to WebP or AVIF. Lazy loading is available for offscreen images and iframes, as well as heavy HTML elements.
Configure and review performance
Automatic configuration is designed to find suitable options for a site. The add-on also integrates Google PageSpeed Insights testing. Install and activate WPSpeed PRO in WordPress, review the available settings, and enable the caching, image, lazy-loading, minification, and resource options you need. After configuration, check the resulting pages to confirm their content and functionality still work as expected. The plugin also targets performance concerns on sites using Elementor and other substantial builder scripts.
